Peter A. Hall is is the Krupp Foundation Professor of European Studies in the Department of Government at Harvard University and a resident faculty member at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies. He has written widely about developments in the OECD political economies, the role of ideas and institutions in politics, methods of political science, European politics and issues of social inequality. His publications include Governing the Economy (1986), The Political Power of Economic Ideas (1989), Varieties of Capitalism (with D. Soskice, 2001), Changing France (with P. Culpepper and B. Palier, 2005), Successful Societies (2009), and Social Resilience in the Neo-Liberal Era (with M. Lamont, 2013), as well as more than a hundred articles on politics and policymaking in Europe. Hall is a Fellow of the British Academy, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has been a visiting fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg and Wissesschaftszentrum, Berlin, the Juan March Institute, Madrid and Sciences Po, Paris among many other institutions.
