Michael is the Executive Director of What Works for Children's Social Care, effective January 2019. Prior to joining the Centre, Michael was Chief Scientist in the Behavioral Insights Team, where he led research projects, including four evaluations for the Department for Education's Innovation Programme. Michael is Reader in Public Policy at King's College London and an Associate Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Bristol and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
