Former President and former member of the Chamber for the Defence of Competition of the Court for the Defence of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property of INDECOPI. Member of the Consumer Protection Commission of INDECOPI.
He was president for three terms of the Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Law and Economics - ALACDE.
He has chaired the Technical Commission that drafted the Peruvian Arbitration Law. He is a member of the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He has participated as arbitrator in more than 250 arbitrations including cases administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce of Paris (ICC), the Arbitration Centre of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (CIAC), the Arbitration Centre of the Peruvian-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), the Conciliation and Arbitration Centre of Panama, and "ad hoc" arbitrations.
He is also a member of the lists of arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre-SIAC, the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre, among others.
Professor at the Faculties of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad del Pacífico, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and Universidad de Lima as well as Visiting Professor at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella de Buenos Aires, Escuela de Economía y Negocios -ESEN- de San Salvador and Universidad de Puerto Rico in courses such as Economic Analysis of Law, Procedural Strategy and Oral Litigation, Competition Law, Real Estate, Contracts, Civil Liability, Commercial Arbitration, Cinema and Law, among others.
He is the author of several books such as "Derecho y Economía", "Análisis Económico del Derecho", "La Relación Jurídico Patrimonial-Reales vs. Obligaciones", "Políticamente Incorrecto" and editor and co-author of several books such as "Análisis Psicológico del Derecho", "Litigio Arbitral: El Arbitraje desde otra Perspectiva", "Destrezas Legales", "Comentarios a la Ley de Arbitraje" as well as of several articles in his areas of expertise.
